Ruby- SOLD to Julie Horsch and Dave Glenn in Wyoming
Ruby is a 9 year old 15hh stunning sorrel mule with white stockings, an dun stripe down her back, white on her tail, and lots of chrome. She is touch control, has a one rein neck rein, she has a great motor, great brakes, and a nice disposition. She is good with her ears, and good for the farrier. She backs up very well, has a nice lope, and very smooth trot. Her color and conformation are to die for. She has been used to work cattle, trail rides beautifully, packs, and crosses water. She is the type of mule that generally makes you walk after her for a couple minutes before being caught but we would definitely not classify her as difficult to catch.
She did have a minor coronary band injury that causes one hoof to grow thicker below the scar. She will always grow a thicker hoof there and because of this regular hoof care is important. We spoke with her original owner and he said this was caused by a barbed wire injury when she was young and had never caused any lameness. Both her veterinarian and farrier agree that with regular hoof maintenance this injury should not cause any lameness and will be cosmetic.
We initially sold her to a family with kids and she was not a good fit for them as she took advantage of the kids by testing her boundaries and trying to get away with doing things her way. She was great for the adults and she has been great with all ability riders on her other than complete beginners. With her lovely handle and experienced rider will enjoy this mule much more than a beginner anyway. Even after 6 months post purchase we agreed to trade them another mule that would be a better fit for them. That is how committed we are to our animals and our clients.
Wynonna is a 15.2hh 11 year old gaited palomino molly mule. Wynonna is coming from a friend and fan of the ranch that wanted to see her used and go to a great home. Our friend runs a rescue operation and with 22 animals and Wynonna was not being ridden regularly. Wynonna was the animal they put their less experienced riders on. Gwen says “She is a wonderful girl if not somewhat opinionated at times and will take the occasional grass breaks on the trail from a less experienced rider. Other than that, her personality is a 10!!! Unfortunately we currently have 22 horses at our rescue and Wynonna is very under utilized.” We have taken Wynonna out on several rides already and into the high country and she has been fantastic. She barely needed a tune-up after almost a year off. Nothing bothers this girl and she is an intelligent, sure-footed, and calm mount. She is a smooth ride and his a nice forward moving mule that likes to ride out front but she’s fine in the middle and the back as well. She is not a poke along mule that constantly need prodding but she’ll go whatever pace you ask her to. Her color is awesome and she has little white spots and roaning in her coat when she shed out in the summer and a pretty white star on her forehead. She has great feet and we’ve had no trouble riding her barefoot in the rocky mountains. She is a willing partner, good for the farrier, good with clippers, and easy to catch. She has a sweet, goofy personality and is looking forward to being someone’s baby. We will be even more selective about her home than usual as we promised Gwen this awesome girl would go to a fantastic home. She does great packing but she is not the right fit for a hunter because she does not like to pack dead animals.
Theodore is a stunning rich mahogany bay Rocky Mountain mule colt.
Samule is a stunning 16hh gaited john mule out of Missouri Mule Company’s Jack Missouri Traveler MYASS and a 16hh beautifully gaited tobiano Tennessee Walker mare. He is 4 years old, he is a gentle giant, and the friendliest guy you’ll ever meet. Samule will meet you at the gate, he is easy to groom, picks up his feet nicely, saddles easily, bathes well, and absolutely loves people. His personality will always keep to smiling and laughing. He is a big lovable guy!! He moves very well off leg pressure and neck reins. He is excellent in the mountains and very sure footed. He loads in trailers well and has no vices. He is a big young mule though so he’ll need someone with some experience to keep him going on the great path he is on. He is very careful in rough terrain, crosses water beautifully, and he is not spooky. He disposition is awesome, he is a smooth and super fun ride, very sure footed, and one of the nicest looking mules we have seen, we love his height, and his color is phenomenal! He has a very nice smooth gait and is smooth at all speeds. This is one flashy mule and we get compliments everywhere we go with him! He has never offered to buck, bite, or kick and he loves his ears scratched. He is one of the few mules that we’ve know that really loves to go out on rides and gets vocal when he is left behind. His price will increase with training.
